Rescue Me ID: 15-12-28-00006Aggie (female)
**AGGIE NEEDS A NEW FOSTER HOME OR AN ADOPTER!** Aggie is a beautiful white American Bulldog with a brown brindle saddle. She is 6 or 7 years old. Aggie appreciates the grass on both sides of the proverbial fence...preferring to roll, roll, roll in any grass available. Maybe it's just another way for her to collect a belly rub? Aggie is just as happy indoors playing with her toys, bones and cuddling up in your lap...all 75 lbs of her. She loves to give little nibbles as a sign of affection. We don't know a lot about Aggie's background, but we don't think she had much in the way of charm school or obedience classes, or maybe she only speaks 'dog'...But she's learning now! Aggie is working on simple requests, like 'sit. stay.' and she has just learned her name. She's also still learning important words like 'walk' 'food' and 'nummies'. Another word she's practicing is 'out?' and all the things that go with that...so she is not yet totally housebroken, but lots of improvement already! Aggie is a good eater....her favorites include bones and cheese. She sleeps in her crate or on the futon. She's a busy-body around the house, sniffing everything--and will get into things if not supervised. She loves to take walks and to be outside. Keep in mind, Aggie is a strong girl and will sometimes lunge at a squirrel or at another dog or person. So, a double leash and using both hands is important for anyone who walks with her. Aggie has not been socialized with kids or dogs, so we don't know yet how she'll do with them. If you think you'd like to meet this all-in, tomboy of a dog, please don't hesitate to contact! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-22-00486zoey (female)
Zoey is all white with subdued black spots. She approx 32 inches tall weighs 87lbs. She has had issues with our Sons 3 yr old Pit bull, when he visited during his last deployment, she has had a fight with our 4 year old Jack Russell female once and has had several fight with our 18 month Lab mix female (she was a stray that showed up) which seems to be escalating more often. We took her and our lab to a behaviorist and she recommended she be rehomed before the aggressiveness gets worse. We can't play tug of war or throw sticks with our other dogs - She needs to be an only dog. She seems to be ok with kids but we really don't have any children at home. Ours son's girlfriends daughter seemed to be ok with her - she is 4. She is a loving dog really and she will lick you death. She has been raised on the farm and is housetrained. She stays out during the day but likes to come in at night. Stays in and out of the workshop with husband during the day She is spayed. She has had her Right rear knee operated on - we believe she hurt it when chasing a rabbit and jumped a ditch. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-03-00185Mr. Belvedere (male)
Meet Mr. Belvedere! This oldie but goody is looking for a retirement home. Mr. B came to ACL as a stray but was never claimed by his owners. He is an older dog who would do best in a quieter household. He is still up for a nice walk, but also enjoys his naps! Mr. B has the sweetest heart, and he has plenty of good years left. Come give this distinguished gentleman a chance!

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-25-01015Danni (female)
We believe Danni to be an American Bulldog and Dalmatian mix. She is approximately 7 years old and weighs just over 50 lbs. Danni is a STUNNING, blue-eyed beauty who love, love, LOVES people. Like many other dogs with her physical appearance, Danni is deaf. She has worked very, very hard with her foster dad in overcoming her disability and is MORE than ready to show everything she has learned to her forever family. A forever home should be patient, active, and willing to learn how best to communicate with and lead Danni. She is a dog who is very busy. She would like nothing better than to go for a nice, controlled walk with her forever person daily. One of her favorite past-times is trotting on a treadmill! (Please take a moment to watch her video at https://vimeo.com/46980402!) Danni has learned to enjoy the company of the other dogs in her foster home, but may need some time to adjust to another dog in her adoptive home. All-in-all, Danni is super fun and will be a great addition to the right home. If you are interested in becoming Danni's new best friend, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 12-08-23-00188Lucky (male)
Lucky was saved from a kill shelter at his last hour. He is a very sweet boy with people (don't know about children), but does not get along with other male and some female dogs. He has had no training, which would probably help, but would be best as an only dog. He knows how to use the doggie door to go potty. Loves to play fetch. Loves petting. We are in the St. Louis metro area (in IL)

PIease Read Before Adopting an American Bulldog in Illinois
American Bulldogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The American Bulldog is an athletic, determined, loyal, and highly devoted breed. American Bulldogs are very affectionate towards children but should be supervised because of their strength. American Bulldogs are very protective of their masters and make great guard dogs. An American Bulldog can do fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise and is walked daily. Like the English Bulldog, the American Bulldog tends to slobber.
