Rescue Me ID: 17-05-14-00286Bella (female)

American Bulldog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I have raised Bella like I would raise a child, very spoiled. She is well fed and has always been a priority when it comes to my responsibilities. She sleeps in bed with me and is allowed on the couch. She is about 80 pounds at 5 years old. She will sit, lay, and shake. She understands a fairly large vocabulary. I couldn't imagine a better, more loyal dog for me. But sadly she does not like children. At all. And that is why I have to give her up. I will moving into a home with my girlfriend and her 4 year old son. She is dangerous to children and cannot be near them. Unlike children she is very friendly toward adults (with approval from her ... (Read More)owner). Anyone could come to the door and as long as I tell her its okay she will be beyond excited to greet them. She is energetic and loves walks/runs. We had an acre with and electric fence at my last home and she loved it. She was a little rough on my dads cat but never hurt him. She isn't very good with other dogs. She has gotten along with one small female beagle but wasn't thrilled. She did play with a black lab that wandered into our yard a couple times except for when it got near me. Lab's gender is unknown. (Less)

American Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We loved Chandlers freedom photo after being rescued from the shelter on his pts date so we thought we would share it. Chandler is a happy boy who loves to smile. His smile comes off quite silly as it tilts to one side. He likes to spend his days playing out in the yard and with someone who will throw a ball or play with a rope. He enjoys to company of other dogs but females only. He tends to be pushy and dominant with males. He seems to be house trained and does well in a crate. He minds his manners and is does well in the car and loves to go to places to get treats. He needs a bit of work on a leash as he tends to pull. He has not been cat ... (Read More)tested at this time but can upon request. He seems to be fine with kids but has lots of bounce to him so kids 7 and above would be best. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-01-00089Trooper (male)

American Bulldog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Trooper. This handsome boy is a 1-year-old American bulldog who is looking for a fantastic forever home. Trooper has been staying with extended family who wanted to help him out, but quickly realized they are unable to give him the time and exercise he needs. Trooper is a big boy, weighing about 80 pounds now. We do expect him to fill out a bit as he matures. Trooper is super lovable, but intimidating to most. He is inquisitive and appears to be serious, but under the deep stares is playful, happy boy who loves treats. Trooper has lived with other dogs and does great. His bestest buddy is currently a little Boston terrier girl who ... (Read More)loves running with the big dogs. We do not know how he is with cats, but we suspect he would never intentionally harm one, but he might get a little rough. Trooper gets nervous around small children. He just hasn't had much experience and the experience he had, the kids were a little too much for him. We think he would be fine with older kids (12+) who know how to appropriately interact with dogs. Trooper does know a few commands and has great house manners. He is very strong on leash if he is not on an Easy Walk harness. He does like car rides and gets really excited in new places. Trooper is looking for a forever home, preferably with a fenced yard where he can be spoiled and loved on. He really likes to cuddle and is used to sleeping in bed with his people. Yes, he is a very large lap dog. Trooper is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken and does not need to be crated when left alone unsupervised. If you would like to meet Trooper, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions directly on the application. After we review applications we will arrange a meet and greet. Trooper's adoption fee is $175. http://www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-28-00409Boomer (male)

American Bulldog    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Hello, We are looking for a home for our American Bully, Boomer. He is very sweet and has lots of love to give! He's 10 months old. There are a couple reasons we need to find him a new home. My husband is allergic to him but more importantly he is a special needs dog because he has bad hips. The orthopedic surgeon says he needs to be in a home with low activity, indoor mostly, with limited leash exercise - no running, jumping, stairs. We have another Bully and they play and run too much and it's detrimental to his hips. He has been through puppy school and knows basic commands: 'sit', ' wait' for his food, 'leave it' quit bothering the cat, ... (Read More)' drop it' various toys and stuffed animals. He's still a puppy despite his size and if given bones and toys of his own is very well behaved. He is crate and bell potty-trained to go outside. He is very food motivated and therefore easy to train. He has been living with 3 children (4, 7,11) and a cat too. He's good with kids but probably not younger than 4. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-20-00141Brad Pitt (male)

American Bulldog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We might have to change this guy's name. When he first came to PawSwaP as a puppy, he looked like a pit mix pup with unique markings. Now that he has matured into a handsome young man, we see that he really isn't pit after all, but more likely American bulldog. Let us reintroduce to the guy we call Brad Pit. We'll keep the name for simplicity sake, even if it may no longer be the best suited for him. This ultra handsome guy is a 1-year-old amazing dog who was a stray, but found love and a foster home with the very people who rescued him. He is now a young adult and weighs about 70 pounds. Brad is a very friendly guy who loves making new ... (Read More)human friends. He greets everyone with a wagging tail, a big smile and a little bounce. When Brad was first found, he was emaciated and stressed. He had a brief encounter with another dog who isn't awesome with other dogs. Brad's reaction worried the foster family that he may not like other dogs. Last week, we consulted a behaviorist about Brad to figure out what kind of home he would succeed in. Well, come to find out, Brad loves other dogs! He loves to play and would do great with an active Buddy who isn't overly dominant. He showed no signs of aggression and was really relaxed even when a herd of dogs was barking at him begging for his attention. As for cats, this appears to be an extremely new concept for him. He will need to be guided around appropriate play with a kitty. He kind of wants to tackle a cat the way he does other dogs. We're guessing that most cats won't love that play style. Brad is fine with kids; just keep in mind that he a is a big boy who sometimes forgets his size. Not only is Brad fun and funny, he is also a lovable baby. He is cuddly and sweet. He loves to play with his tennis ball. He is also very well trained. he knows several commands and listens very well. His ideal home will love him bunches and continue the training the finders have started. Brad is super smart and loves to learn, especially when treats are involved. Brad is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. He is perfect little boy. If you would like to offer Brad a forever home please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-27-00326Julius (male)

American Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Julius LOVES all people! He is crate trained and housebroken. He loves walks and playing with toys in the yard and inside the house. He has lots of kitty friends here. He likes other dog friendly dogs, but has a rough play style, so the other dog should be close to him in size and also enjoy a rough play style. A meet and greet with other dog would be mandatory. He would be fine as an only dog, too. Although he is playful, he settles down quickly and is quite laid back. He would enjoy snuggling on the couch or in your cozy bed. He weighs about 70 lbs, but still needs to put on some more weight. I am his foster mom, and I LOVE him! ...
