|Rescue Me ID: 17-07-11-00511Dixie (female)|
Dixie is a sweetheart and has been a part of our family since she was about 5 pounds. She is now 90 pounds of snuggle bunny who tries to fit into the tiniest spot on the couch. She loves belly rubs, chasing squirrels, and drinking too much water too quick. It is with an *extremely* heavy heart that we have come to the point where we need to find our baby girl a forever home. When Dixie joined our family she made the youngest of three female dogs. Unfortunately for her, we didn't do right by her in terms of proper training and preparing her for success in a multi-dog household...especially with other females. She loved playing with her sisters until she got older and began developing dominant traits. The dynamics of our household changed after a new baby entered the family. Dixie now wasn't getting enough attention from us and we definitely weren't working with her and addressing these behavioral changes. After getting into a fight with our smallest dog (Hope) we vowed to work with a trainer and behavioral specialist. However, this never happened and eventually the inevitable happened...Dixie got into another fight with Hope which, because our 3rd dog joined in, ultimately led to Hope having to be put down. We did not blame Dixie because, again, her behavior had not been addressed. So, again we vowed to get her some professional help and help her be able to stay in our house. As you can probably guess, this never happened and once again the inevitable occurred. Dixie got into a fight with our *other* dog. We never thought that would happen because Maddison is so submissive. Now, Maddison will be okay but we know we can't keep Dixie. We could vow *again* to do what we should've done a long time ago, but I'm quick to admit (although I'm not proud about it) that this is likely not going to happen and we are setting this sweet baby up for failure. Our first thought was to put Dixie down. BUT, after talking to our friends who train dogs (I know what you're thinking) and to the vet, I really believe she will make a FANTASTIC dog to someone. Despite what we've been through...she's been a fantastic dog to us in terms of her heart and attitude toward us. She has not been around cats or other animals so I'll err on the side of caution...and she has NEVER been aggressive to my kids but we just can't take that chance. Dixie needs to be in a single dog family with no kids. And she needs a home where she will receive the rehabilitation and proper training that we failed to give her. If you're reading this PLEASE consider saving this sweet angel. She IS a great dog and she is a victim of her circumstances. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-06-18-00137Talia (female)|
This is what rescue looks like. This is Talia. The day of her rescue she was malnourished, bloody, and mange ridden. With lots of love and medical attention, Talia is healing and her beauty is beginning to show, physically and emotionally. Talia has a beautiful soul and we all adore her. The best news is she is ready for adoption. Talia was rescued after being abandoned in the woods. She is a gentle soul. She is learning basic commands, is very good in her crate, and gets along with dogs of all sizes. She is also learning how to walk on a leash, and to play with toys. She is estimated to be about five years old. She is ready and deserves a home that will love her forever. Recommend more testing with cats and small children. Send us an email if you would like to meet this sweet and loving girl. She is forever thankful. Talia's adoption fee is $175. This includes her deworming, spay, heartworm test and prevention, flea and tick prevention (through date of adoption), DHPP and rabies vaccines, and microchip.
