Beans is charismatic and loves to be loved on! He has a lot of energy to go on walks, runs or play in the yard. Beans is on the larger side, approx. 65 lbs. When he first came to the Huntingdon Pound in Huntingdon, TN (October 2014) he was very thin, but he has since put on weight, has been tested negative for heartworms and will be fully vetted, he just needs YOU! Beans' time is very limited so if you are interested in giving this sweet boy a forever home, please contact Trisha Crowley at 716-430-7773.

American Bulldog ~ Young ~ Female ~ Medium~ located at the Carroll County Humane Society McKenzie, TN (West Tn) Baby is a super sweet American Bulldog girl who found herself in a not good way. She was surrendered to a local animal control facility as a stray and what no one knew at the time was she was prego. The ACO held her as long as possible and then it became very obvious that she was going to have puppies. An emergency foster parent stepped up and agreed to take this pretty girl and help her in her time of need and desperation. Just a few days later, she had her little baby dogs - a litter of 9 but one did not make it. She stayed in foster care with her children and now the puppies have been weaned and Baby is looking for a home. Baby is about a year old and has super nice doggy manners and loves affection and attention. Other dogs make her a bit nervous, but please remember that for now, Baby sees other dogs as things that will either steal her food or harm in in a variety of ways. She is gradually learning that dogs are also friendly and is relaxing around them. She has nice leash manners and loves belly rubs and pets. While Baby has not lived in a home during her time in foster or currently at the shelter, she will NOT do her business in her living space. She used a doggy door at her foster home from the inside portion of her kennel to the outside, and at the shelter she will hold it until she can get out to run around and play. She will make a terrific dog for a very lucky family. Baby is heartworm negative, current on her vaccines, and she was spayed today. Update as of 11/26/14 by Babe's prior foster mom, Lisa Oatsvall - cell 731-499-0739. Babe was alone to roam a small town her entire life until this past July. She had a litter of puppies in the wild and locals could never locate them. Babe was caught by ACO and was pregnant at time. A local gentleman took care of Babe during her time in the local high kill pound and pleaded for rescue assistance. Another volunteer friend lives in the same area and was desperately wanting to help Babe and Jimmy however it is not simple finding a place for a mom dog about to drop a litter. I told her to bring Babe on to my kennel. I have fostered 100s of dogs but never had a chance to have a mom give birth in my care until Babe and her babies. I love her and I adored her little ones. It killed me when they left my care. Babe had to leave about 3 weeks before the pups because it was time for this to happen. I went on many walks with Babe on a leash and I never trusted Babe off the leash. It is of my opinion from close personal care of Babe for several weeks that she be primarily an inside dog due to her short coat and that she have adequate containment while she is outside. I fear with her living a greater portion of her life wandering around that she could possibly not know better than to leave a yard without a fence. Babe longs to be loved and to be with her person. When you hug Babe she is so happy she makes a little snore sound. Please call me if you have any questions about this great girl. (Less)

American Bulldogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The American Bulldog is an athletic, determined, loyal, and highly devoted breed. American Bulldogs are very affectionate towards children but should be supervised because of their strength. American Bulldogs are very protective of their masters and make great guard dogs. An American Bulldog can do fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise and is walked daily. Like the English Bulldog, the American Bulldog tends to slobber.
