|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-16-00438Nelson (female)|
Nelson is a purebred American Bulldog. He is great dog for an adult only home. He needs to go to home where he is the only dog since he is dog aggressive. Nelson loves to cuddle and play catch. He is a big goof and playful. He is house broken and knows basic commands. Due to showing aggression towards our older dog and having a new baby we decided he needs to find a better fit home.

|Rescue Me ID: 16-09-26-00332Petey (female)|
I rescued Petey from a car accident in front of my house on 4th of July weekend. She was with a man who used her for protection and lived in a bad neighborhood. He had rescued her from drug dealers. The man who last had her asked me to keep her, as he was disabled before the accident, and now would never be able to keep her again. I have had her for nearly 3 months, and have really tried to make this work. She plays well with my dogs (Boston Terriers), but shows aggression toward people. She feels it is her job to protect us, which is so unfair to her. We took her to Patricia McConnell's organization for a one on one, and they see real potential in her, as does our vet, but I feel as though she is a bit of a ticking time bomb, and that I cannot have anyone over to the house as I fear for their safety. She loves our big back yard, and to run like the wind. But, she is highly distractable, so has been very difficult to train. I have a very unpredictable work schedule, so it is difficult for me to find time to train her adequately. She would be best with someone who can dedicate themselves to working with her, so she is safe to be around strangers. I am currently dealing with my 90 year old mother's health issues, and, unfortunately, don't feel like I have a lot of time to spare. She is only 18 months old, in great health, and loves to be loved. But needs a lot of one-on-one training to get her out of her protective--aggressive toward others--mode. Breaks my heart not to be able to keep her, but I have realized my limits. I will not let her go to anyone who cannot prove they are up to the task, as she has had a rough road in her young life, all of which was not her fault. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-09-20-00193Samson (male)|
Looking for the right owner for a great dog. I am the dog's trainer and have been working with him for the past 5 months on his dog aggression. Although he has made significant progress it is still a work in progress. I believe he can be rehabilitated and would be willing to still work with him at no cost until his dog aggression is resolved. He was severely beaten by his previous owners and am unsure of what else he has went thru but still loves people and kids. He is also suffering from anxiety especially when it storms. I've been training dogs for over 20 years and there is something about this dog that deserves a second chance he is well trained on all the basic commands and also some tricks. Unfortunately he bit his owner and now is going to be put to sleep. There was a storm and Samson is petrified of the thunder and was cowering down and shaking on the floor of the car, when she reached to comfort him and also get something out of his mouth he bit her. I know this all sounds bad but am hoping there is someone willing to help what is a wonderful dog which is out of options and like I mentioned would be willing to continue to work with for no cost. |Rescue Me ID: 16-05-06-00303Junior (male)|
Jr will be 2 yr old July 9th. He is up to date on all vaccine and is neutered and has micro chip. Jr was a rescue for us at 8 mth old and he has overcame so much since having him. He is very good around children and know his limits with little one. I have a 1 yr old granddaughter and 4yr old grandson that play rough with him at time and Jr plays along. He is full of energy and loves to be outside. That is his favorite thing to do. Jr has very big bark to strangers but it only a bark and then he is fine. With men he seem nervous around but warms up on his own after awhile. After a few meets with my son he was fine with him. Jr has been around my daughter dog a chiuuaa who Jr sees as the boss. So he does not show no aggression towards other dogs but he does get excited when seeing them. I am not sure about about cats but if anyone interested in Jr has cats I think if kept separate in home for few days and he can smell them out he will be fine. Jr is a lover. Jr need alot of attention. He does nibble at your hand when he needs to go out side. Or when he wants you to pet him. Which is often throughout day. He is not kennel trained at all. Tried it and it did not go well made him more nervous. Jr went to vet for a check three mth ago and vet told us Jr anxiety such as him shaking is his happiness it nothing serious at all. All dog show it differently. And also he said Jr has about another 25 pounds to go or so. But he need more activity which I'm unable to give him no more. He has to go out and come right back in. We no longer have the yard and Im unable to walk him. He is alot for me to handle. A is time Jr weighs about 79 pounds. I want the best life for Jr. He so deserve it. He has alot of puppy in him still and can be trained in many areas. he does sit lay down shake and know to go to bed when he has done something he should not do. He is house broken. Been gone up to 9 hr and he had no accident. Anyone interested in Jr must have the time and energy to handle him. Like I said he still is very trainable and he is beyond smart dog. He would make a great pet to a family with kids that have good energy and can go for walks with him. (Less)

American Bulldogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. The American Bulldog is an athletic, determined, loyal, and highly devoted breed. American Bulldogs are very affectionate towards children but should be supervised because of their strength. American Bulldogs are very protective of their masters and make great guard dogs. An American Bulldog can do fine in an apartment if it gets enough exercise and is walked daily. Like the English Bulldog, the American Bulldog tends to slobber.
