     We found Gus on Rescue Me. He had a 'Urgent' flashing above his name with only a few days left. We contacted the number of the gentleman that was on the posting and he said Gus was in no danger of being put to sleep. But was in need of a good home. We love Gus, he has been with us for two nights now and last night was his first night of sleeping all night long. The first day was all fun, but Gus has some really bad gas. We are feeding him Instinct Rawboost Grain-Free beef and he loves it. So last night was a great night without gas mask. Gus and I went and picked out some toys. He is learning to play with them but the toy squeaky snake he treats like a baby, when I throw it across the yard he will go get it, pick it up very gently, and walk so slowly back inside the house and lay it on his bed. He loves the rope toys, but when he gets them he wants me to play chase, and we are still working on returning to me. He loves going for walks and runs. I think we both will work a little on our bellies. He has made our home his and we love him. He supervised the installation of his new doggy door, and was the first to test it out.

     After a terrible start in life where these bonded siblings were neglected and then over a year living shelter life in Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, a documentary video made by one of Angel and Halo's shelter volunteer fans turned me on to these dogs and the possible relationship that could be had with them. I then posted their video on Rescue Me and received a few 'hits'. The latest one from an experienced couple in Los Angeles who had just lost their American Bulldog to cancer started communications and committed to meeting them today with their eight year old, docile lab. All are going home together tonight. So happy for Angel & Halo!

     Petey found a forever home! We took her to our kennel and were going to keep her there until we found her a new home, since she was not working well in our home. They worked with her for a couple of weeks and a friend of the owner's lost their dog and wanted a Pitty. While I have no idea how much Pit she had, they met her, fell in love and adopted her. It was a much better situation than what we could provide her, and much better than the drug dealers who had her previously.      We had been looking for another dog for a while after we noticed our Boxer was lonely after the loss of her friend this past summer. We had been looking for about a month when we came across Ella and we just had to have her! She is perfect for our house and our Boxer adores her. Thanks Rescue Me!

     Two years ago, I adopted Clifford. I had already adopted my other dog, two years prior to that and thought he would like a companion. Well, the last two years with Clifford have been good until recently when Clifford and Kazoo (my pup from four years ago) began getting into fights. They would break out as a blink of an eye. I just couldn't figure out what was triggering it. There were no warning signs or triggers that I could identify. And as soon as the fight would end they would lick and love on each other like nothing happened. Weird. Anyway, as soon as they started getting hurt, I knew a tough decision had to be made. I did not want one of them to unintentionally, seriously hurt the other in one of these bouts. So I turned to Rescue Me to post Clifford. I received several emails of people interested and settled on the family with four kids knowing how loving and gentle Clifford is when not around another dog. I was very nervous, but when I went to meet the family was soon very relieved. First, they were very receptive and the kids started playing right away with Clifford. Second, the mom had grown up with big dogs and was not intimidated about taking care of such a dog. Third, I knew they would love him and I wouldn't have to worry or feel guilty. Finally, he would be safe and my dog Kazoo would be safe. As soon as I heard the oldest boy say, 'I love Clifford', I knew it was time to go. I told Clifford's new mom that if things didn't work out I would take him back, but by the end of the first weekend and seeing the pictures of the kids snuggled up on the couch with a 90 pound Clifford, I knew everyone would have a life filled with love and security.

     I found a beautiful, young, friendly American Bulldog. No ID. No microchip. Posted on lost dog sites. Checked with local shelters. No one was looking for him. He did not seem that he was abused as he was sweet, trusting and friendly. He was starved and had probably been on the streets for a while. I fostered him for a month. He gained 10 pounds and adapted well to our house, but I could not keep him. Thanks to my Rescue Me post, he found a wonderful home. I am very grateful for this service!

     We plucked Petey off of the streets. He was scared and skinny. We took him to the vet to scan for a chip. No chip. We then posted him on Criagslist and various other places to look for his owner. No success. So we took Petey to the vet and had him neutered, shots, etc. That was over a year ago.      IT HAPPENED!!! Sweet Buster has been adopted!! He has the greatest family that is totally in love with him. He has a fur brother to play with and a human nephew to share his cupcake. He was one of two dogs with which I started my rescue. He had been in the shelter since June of last year when I pulled him. I have had this sweet boy for over a year. Thanks to Rescue Me, he found his forever home! Sometimes it just takes a little while to find their families. Thanks to his new mom for choosing him. It was definitely meant to be! I miss his face and wiggly butt so much, but I'm so happy for Buster that I can hardly stand it! Thank you Rescue Me!

     Thank you so much to Rescue Me! We pulled an American Bulldog mix from the euthanasia list at a nearby shelter because the volunteers told us how much of a sweetheart he was. When we picked him up from the shelter, he had sores all over his joints. I believe they were from his previous home because he was kept in a concrete kennel, and he seemed very sad. He had only been at the shelter for about a day but due to his looks, he was slated to be put down the next day. But the volunteers were more than right! He was such a gentle, laid back, and cuddle bug boy. Once he was out in the grass, rolling around, he was a new dog. It warmed the heart to see him playing with the other dogs and galloping around the yard. Through Rescue Me, a potential adopter contacted us from a neighboring state. They had been looking for a new addition for about five years! They had a female American Bulldog and wanted to find her a friend. They were a bit far, about 10 hours, but they were a perfect match. Luckily, we were able to meet half way and he went to his new home. He is now called Ace and his new family absolutely adores him. This success would not have been possible without Rescue Me. We were able to reach people far further than our networking capabilities. Thank you to all who helped save Ace!

As much as I wanted to keep her, my 12 hour shift job does not leave me the time that she needs. In the short time I had her she was walking by my side on walks. I hated to give her up but knew it was the best thing for her. Within hours of posting on Rescue Me, I received a call from a gentleman with a family that has an older dog and was looking to bring a younger dog into his family. He fell in love with her photo. He lives a ways away so we met halfway. I felt comfortable and assured that she was going to a good home. They told me they will be posting pics on facebook. I look forward to seeing her enjoying her forever home! Thank you Rescue Me for helping me find a good home for sweet Bella!

     I found a dog in my sister's neighborhood and subsequently located her owners, who were the ones who had dumped her! She was super sweet and beautiful, and I posted her on this site! Within TWO DAYS, she had several different adoption candidates, and she went to her new forever home less than a week later! I cannot tell you how wonderful Rescue Me is and I would not have been able to give her this kind of exposure anywhere else! She is now living a spoiled life with a wonderful family with two children to play with!

     My boy was adopted! I fell in love with an American Bulldog mix at the local kennel, but I couldn't adopt him because my dog didn't like him. This man actually did show up at the kennel, but he was told that Victor had already been adopted! Thank goodness he went to a nice family! Whew! The bottom line is hang in there.      I took Kilo in from a not so great situation. He came back here and fit in with my guy Ted right away. My intention was to get him relaxed and then start working on finding him that last home that he would ever need. After three months it was time and I used Rescue Me as the resource to find him that perfect home. I had a call within two days but did not feel right about it. Two weeks later, a family contacted me and the next day they drove and hour and a half to come get him. He is absolutely loved there and getting spoiled even more than I spoiled him. They keep in contact with me to assure his minor medical issues are being taken care of properly and to update on how well he is doing with his new family. That is the best part, he got a family. I felt comfortable using Rescue Me and it is one of the best ways to go about finding a good home. Please never, never use craigslist.

     My family found an amazing angel we named 'Sammi' (American bulldog). Someone obviously had abandoned her. She was malnourished with frostbitten feet. Sammi, through all she had endured, had an amazing love for humans, especially children. Sadly, Sammi and my pit bull did not get along, so I posted Sammi on Rescue Me. The very next day, I got a call from Christine, another angel on earth. Sammi is now with her loving family, which by the way includes two little girls! This couldn't have been a more perfect fit for Sammi and the amazing family that has her!

     I like to thank Rescue Me for giving our precious Rocco a chance to live! Due to my mother's illness, he was not getting the attention and love he deserved.. And mom even consider taking him to the pound. I of course refused to have him put in that risky position of getting euthanized, so I prayed about it and asked my apartment manager to allow him to live with me until a family can adopt him. In a matter of few days, I got a response about Rocco. Many potential families... At the end, though, two weeks into him being on Rescue Me I believe with all my heart that GOD sent the right family for Rocco. Thank you, Mr. Ron and Patty. If you read this post, please give Rocco lots kisses and big hugs from me! GOD bless you for taking him into your home.

     Uriel was one of a litter of eight rescue puppies that my husband and I took in. We had several dead and inquiries, but was soon contacted by a very sincere couple over an hour away who cared enough about this angel to cooperate with my concerned requirements of adoption, and drove over an hour on their little boy's birthday to adopt Uriel. They brought their other dog, per my request, to make sure the fit was appropriate. I was very pleased that he had his dog for 15 years and counting. It is such a joy to find a family like this for a puppy that may have died prior to his rescue. He is such a doll baby, and I couldn't be more pleased!! Thank you, Rescue Me!!

     I saw Petey on Rescue Me. He was emaciated and had been living in a filthy cage for who knows how long. Hillside SPCA rescued Petey, a female and her puppies. After emails and phone calls, I drove my two dogs, husband, and me to meet Petey. In the week that he was at the shelter, he looked 150% better. We brought him home on a Thursday. By Thursday night, the other dogs had taught him that outside was for the bathroom and the house for his home. He now plays with his 'older brother' whenever possible, such as right now. The other dogs have accepted him into the family and Petey is a happy young dog. He understands the word NO, and has learned the boundaries of the invisible fence, so he now has the run of the yard. Thank you, Rescue Me, for the chance to add a third dog to our family.
